work we love doing
the last couple of days have been great and I can't stop working, it has been so much fun.
I am using eye-movements, in combination with other metrics, in order to quantify "good" UX. #metrics #howto
without a doubt there are a lot of insightful journalists with a good understanding of UX. I just think we can have better results when we combine expert opinions with user testing and scientific methods. That way we can quantify UX more accurately.
If you want to tick a box and you think you can use a single metric to define the success of your system (e.g. Net Promoter Score), that is absolutely fine if that works for you and your customers. I believe you will suffer long-term and you won't know how to fix it.
If you want to do serious pre-development work, I suggest you combine subjective and objective methods. Expert evaluation will help you with an in-depth full system analysis. User testing will help you to understand ease of use, look & feel. Eye-movements will help you identify workload/distraction, areas of interest, legibility, performance
