What is vision interaction?
A great demo by Continental showing, amongst other features, vision interaction with in-car displays.
Display brightness adjustment is a good use case for vision interaction. With the increasing number of in-car displays, energy and thermal management will become critical. Taking into consideration the electrification of the fleets it does make sense to dim the displays and save energy when the driver/passenger is not looking.
Also, during night driving it might be distracting to have a bright display on your visual periphery.
One study item, slight concern I have, is how drivers' eyes will adapt to the sudden brightness increase, especially older drivers.
In any case, this is an excellent demo and I hope we see it in production very soon (Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo??? just speculating here, I have absolutely no idea)
Definitely with the maturity of technology we will see more and more use cases, mostly safety related (e.g. Cadillac driver monitoring)
